You’re a designer who makes rooms come alive. The textiles, the stone, the light, the chair in the corner. By the time someone walks in, the space has its own voice, and your fingerprints are all over it.
Art should be a note in that voice. But too often, it isn’t. The choices narrow to whatever’s available. The budget tightens. The space ends up with art that’s close enough.
That’s not what your room deserves.
We started Acrylic six years ago because the art industry wasn’t working. Not for artists, not for spaces, not for anyone outside a very small circle. Original work has become a luxury good: gated by galleries, hoarded by collectors, priced for scarcity over quality. Meanwhile, most working artists can’t make a living. Most spaces, even high-end ones, end up with whatever’s available rather than what would actually sing. The result is a small art world and a lot of compromise.
So we built a studio to widen the gate. We believe that the designers whose taste turns architecture into atmosphere should be able to brief artwork the same way they brief everything else: Send us the room, the palette, the mood, the budget. We match it to one of our artists, and you get real paint on real canvas, in days.
We are reviving an idea the interior design industry has slowly forgotten: that the rooms where people gather—homes, hotels, public spaces—deserve art with weight and originality. That art should be seen and appreciated, not hidden in privileged collections. That artists should have diverse ways to connect with buyers, not be locked out of old-fashioned gallery systems.
We do not invoice until you approve the work. The risk is all ours—and we’re willing to take it because we know you will love the results. By the time the room opens, the art will feel like it was meant to be there.
Your vision is the work. Acrylic is in service of it. We’d love to make something with you.
With love from our studio in Montreal,
